The Gourmet Cheese Championship is consolidated as the most important of those held in Spain. In this Championship, artisan cheese accounts for more than 70%, which is why it can be considered the reference Championship in our country.
The panel of judges and tasters was made up of technicians, master cheesemakers, shop managers, bloggers and food journalists, chefs, purchasing managers from large retailers and restaurant managers who love and care for cheese. It is precisely this heterogeneous profile of judges that allows them to give an average rating that is more representative and closer to consumer tastes.
Among the 36 Winning Cheeses that received the award, the Absolute Winner of the Best Cheese of Spain 2018 was discovered, with our 'Quesico Joven del Abuelo Pepe' taking first place in the third category.

The Cabildo of Fuerteventura, through the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, promotes the Competition in which goat cheese makers from any region of Spain participate.
The 'TABEFE Fuerteventura Awards' initiative has established itself as one of the most important events in the primary sector. The jury of experts at a national level comes from tasting panels of regulatory councils, scientific associations, technological centres, restaurants, cheese makers and other qualified experts.
Once again, our Quesico Joven del Abuelo Pepe gets another recognition: and we love it! :)
